There are two main types of therapy available;

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy involves working one on one with a therapist to help provide skills and tools to manage the issues which have brought you to therapy. The first session is about the therapist getting to understand your situation, and in conjunction with the client making a plan as to how to move forward. Some of the common types of therapy which are used are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Existential Psychotherapy. Each of these techniques are aimed at gaining strategies to overcome the difficulties for each individual client.

Group Therapy
Several group therapy programs run at Toni Lindsay Psychology including;

  • Dealing with depression and anxiety for adolescents
  • Healthy Living (including stress management, sleep strategies, engaging in healthy behaviours and developing values for healthy living)
  • Managing HSC Stress
  • Dealing with troublesome worries (Strategies for Mood Management)
Each of these programs runs over 4 weeks and allows participants to gain support and strategies, as well as gaining peer support with others in similar situations.  Each program has 6-10 participants. If you are interested in joining a group please complete this form and we will contact you when the next program is available.
